FeedMagic.com Launches a Customer Follow-Up Service That Cannot Be Blocked By Spam Filters

(PRWEB) August 18, 2005 -- Fed up with overly-zealous spam filters, Kent Thompson launches FeedMagic.com, a new autoresponder service that utilizes RSS technology to deliver messages that cannot be blocked.

Businesses can now distribute their personalized newsletter or special offers without having to rely exclusively on email, since FeedMagic lets subscribers choose between email and a personalized RSS feed for delivery.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and allows publishers to reliably distribute their content through various channels on the internet.

"Everyone hates getting spam, and the problem is worsening every day," says Kent Thompson, creator of FeedMagic. "The spammers are crafting more and more messages that look legitimate, and this makes them increasingly difficult for spam filters to detect."

Most ISPs have spam filters in place in order to filter out junk email before it ever reaches the recipient's inbox.

"Overly-strict spam filters are hurting the marketer's bottom line", says Kent, "because while they may block unwanted email, spam filters also block legitimate email that the recipient has requested. I've seen reports showing certain ISPs to be blocking up to 50% of the legitimate email. While the actual percentages are unknown, the problem is significant."

Publishers who use blogs to distribute their content never have to worry about spam filters, however, because blogs use RSS technology, which is unblockable. But blogs have a different set weaknesses.

"Blogs are great tools, but they lack several key features that every expert marketer wants," notes Kent. "One is that you can't personalize messages, two is that you can't send timed messages, and three, you can't send test messages to a small group of subscribers. These are must-have's in the internet marketing world."

Feedmagic solves all three of these problems by giving each subscriber their own unique RSS feed, which allows publishers to control exactly what is sent to a given subscriber.
