Mountain Valley Spring Water Source Secure

Hot Springs, Arkansas (PRWEB) March 13, 2008 -- The Associated Press investigative report of March 10 regarding "Drugs in Tap Water" has caused some concern among consumers about the source and protection of their drinking water.

Mountain Valley Spring Company, bottlers of the Mountain Valley, Clear Mountain and Diamond brands, would like to assure its customers that for 137 years its water has originated from natural springs located on its 2,000 protected acres in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas.

The geologic nature of the land comprising the 2,000 acres is such that independent geologists retained by Mountain Valley have assured us the recharge cycle of the aquifer is 3,500 years. In other words, water falling on the ground as rain takes 3,500 years to penetrate the deep aquifer and rise again as spring water. Other than the bottling plant located at the spring source, there is no other human activity on the property except for an occasional select timber harvest to maintain the health of the forest.

Mountain Valley is inspected by both State and Federal authorities on a regular basis. But we go well beyond the regulatory minimums by voluntarily belonging to the International Bottled Water Association which conducts surprise inspections of our bottling facility and requires testing for over 100 potential contaminants. We are certified by the independent National Sanitation Foundation International and have been certified kosher by the Orthodox Union.
