HP Creates Innovative Recycling Process, Makes New HP Inkjet Cartridges from Plastic Water Bottles

-- HP has created an innovative way to produce new HP inkjet cartridges using recycled plastic from empty water bottles and used HP inkjet cartridges.
-- HP used more than 5 million pounds of recycled plastic in HP inkjet cartridges last year, and is committed to using twice as much in 2008.
-- With this first-of-its-kind green technology, HP has already incorporated recycled plastic in more than 200 million HP inkjet cartridges.
-- Using recycled plastic saves energy and keeps plastic out of landfills. HP has already used enough recycled plastic to fill more than 200 tractor trailers.
-- HP combined inkjet cartridges returned through HP's Planet Partners recycling program with water bottles and additives in a way that ensures all materials meet HP's high performance standards.
-- It's a significant achievement to take recycled materials from something as common as a plastic water bottle, and then incorporate those materials along with plastics from recycled inkjet cartridges, and create a highly engineered Original HP inkjet cartridge.
