Fitness Water - Truth or Hype?
Many fitness enthusiasts favour drinking fitness water - such as Propel, released by Gatorade - in the belief that it will give their body extra benefits. While it is true that many fitness waters contain green tea extracts, reputed to be 'good for us', due to the fat burning qualities, most don't say how much of those substances are actually in the water. And experts have not decided just how much we need to gain the benefits, either. Hypothetically, green tea contains certain properties that are reputed to help metabolise fat, and trials have shown that it does indeed help us lose weight. But it should never replace a healthy diet and plenty of fluids. However, the addition of fitness water in the diet is promising as it is certainly effective for hydrating the body and does burn some fat. Fitness water costs a great deal and we could get those same benefits a great deal more cheaply simply by drinking green tea. Of course, fitness waters have a more pleasant flavour than plain water - or even green tea - and that's the main benefit. We are much more likely to drink something we like the taste of, therefore we get more of the water that we need.
