Two Hawaiian Surfers Endorse EX Drinks U.S.'s Energy Drinks; Kohl Christensen, Kekoa Cazimero Sign to Rep Healthy Alternative Beverages

"We are thrilled to join up with these two outstanding athletes - serious surfers and rising stars who recognize the obvious benefits of our beverages over industry-leading energy drinks containing megadoses of caffeine, vitamins, processed sugar and taurine," said Corey Namba, a Partner and Promotions Manager for EXDUS. Namba, who lives in Haleiwa, has nine years experience marketing beverages.

EXDUS owns the brands in the United States and is the exclusive U.S. distributor for London, England-based Extreme Drinks LTD, a five-year-old firm which markets its beverages in 26 countries. The global roster includes Denmark, France, India and Sweden, four nations which either limit or restrict from sale drinks containing taurine. Extreme Drinks is a part of Extreme Group and Extreme International, which founded the Extreme Sports Channel.

Big Wave Fan Prefers Paddling to Towing

Christensen, 30, single and a native of Kailua, has been an avid surfer for more than two decades. He defines a "big wave" as 'one that really scares me.' In Hawaii, Kohl regularly surfs waves in the 20- to 25-foot range. He's also surfed big waves in Australia, Chile, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Tahiti and other South Pacific islands. South Africa is on his wish list.

Although jet-skis are a great life-saving device for surfers, Kohl prefers paddling. "I'm not against towing, but for the most part I like to paddle out. The feeling is a lot more genuine, more natural. That's why I'm endorsing EX Drinks. They are all natural. I try to be healthy. I don't mind the taste of caffeine, but I don't like the taste of taurine in energy drinks."

Kohl has earned his 100-ton-vessel captain's license as well as his general contractor's license - "a lot harder than catching a wave! I have a 20-foot fishing boat and a 40- foot, traditional Hawaiian sailing canoe, but the gleam in my eye is a 50-foot ocean-going catamaran."

Not only is Kohl building a two-story home and 1500-square-foot workshop for his brother and himself, but he also finds time to scuba dive and is working up a three-acre vegetable farm.

Son...Scholar...Surfer

Cazimero, who turned 18 in June, is the son of Turk and Shari Cazimero. His father heads production for Hawaiian Hurricane, an events promotion and management company. The Honolulu native grew up in Waimanolo. He recently graduated from Kaiser High School in Hawaii Kai, where he was valedictorian in a class of more than 400 students.

Kekoa, who won the Open Title in the National Scholastic Surfing Assn. event in San Clemente, CA in 2006, is foregoing college for now to turn pro and to turn his attention to pure competition. Next up?

The North Shore of the Island of Oahu, where some of the world's best surfers take on the famous "Pipeline." His EX Drinks gear should draw edgy attention, since the event's official name is the Monster Energy® Pro Contest. To prepare for the grueling contest, he is intensifying his "core and cardio" regimen with weights and running.

"Because the pro circuit requires so much physicality, focus and pure performance, I'm compelled to drink only safe beverages. EX Drinks are healthy. Before a contest, I drink the EX Pure Energy. While I personally like the taste, I also find that you don't crash hard afterwards," he observed.
