Additionally, pomegranate juice has been reported to reduce systolic blood pressure, reduce arterial plaque, improve blood flow and increase levels of nitric oxide. Further benefits might include preventing stroke, Alzheimer?s, arthritis, premature aging and possibly even cancer.
Just like any other product, you need to be careful about the juice you choose. Certainly, you could buy pomegranates and juice them or eat the seeds - this may be really time consuming as these fruits are hard to cut into. When you purchase juice, you should stick with 100% pomegranate juice and be certain that there is no added sugar or other harmful substances.
One thing though, if you do decide to enjoy the health benefits of pomegranate juice you should check with your doctor first, especially if you are taking any medications. It's been discovered that, in a few cases, the pomegranate juice could affect the way your body metabolizes prescription medicines and this can be very harmful to you so it's a good idea to be safe and ask your doctor first!
