Are Denver Water Employees Part Amphibious?
Denver, CO (PRWeb) March 27, 2007 -- Who knows more about Mile High water than the employees of Denver Water? Sukle Advertising & Design could think of only one answer - something that already lives in H2O. So the staff at Sukle wondered quizzically, could the employees of Denver Water be part amphibious? This is the idea behind the advertisements you can now see in Denver community papers. The print ads debuted on Monday, March 19th.
"We decided to show the employees in the ads as being part amphibious to really emphasize their water wisdom and their love for what they do," said Mike Sukle, President of Sukle Advertising & Design.
Sukle is the creative power behind the unique ads that feature Denver Water employees with lobster claws, octopus arms and even a mermaid body. A Hollywood prop maker, who has made props for movies like Splash and the Black Lagoon, created the amphibious parts for the Denver Water workers.
The goal of the campaign is to inform Denver residents about the quality of Denver water, what it takes to deliver water to homes and businesses and the employees that make it all possible. Men's Health Magazine even highlights the work of Denver Water employees in its March 2007 issue by rating Denver as the city with the cleanest water in the United States.
"When people turn on their faucet, they don't think about the work that goes into making sure their water is safe and high quality," said Trina McGuire-Collier with Denver Water. "But we focus on this around the clock. Denver Water has a huge responsibility for serving more than a million customers; our employees really do know water."
The Denver Water campaign follows last year's advertising campaign, "Use Only What You Need", also created by Sukle Advertising & Design. The conservation-based campaign received world-wide recognition and appeared in several publications including Communication Arts and The One Show Magazine; it is also a finalist for an OBIE award.
The print ads for this year's amphibious campaign will run in 31 Denver-area publications. Starting the week of March 26th, the ads will appear in bus shelters, on buses and on billboards. The ads will run through June 1st.
